Our innovations

Over the years, various investments (financial and human) have been made within the Hôpital de la Paix to introduce innovations.

These are reflected, for example, in the purchase of new systems related to care (Siemens MRI, Sechrist Cath-Lab, General Electric CT scanner, Mindray ultrasound, etc.) and maintenance (solar panels, solar batteries, elevator renovation, etc.).

However, this is the most visible aspect of innovations: we can also renew ourselves in terms of processes and practices, for example by implementing more advanced practices for the treatment and management of recyclable waste, or by introducing an ever-improving quality of care through more varied training and by bringing together professionals who normally do not meet because they work in different departments (which allows them to enrich each other through their different perspectives on certain subjects, etc.).

A significant innovation was the creation in 2011 of a burn unit on two floors (on the 8th and 9th floors), comprising 33 medical beds with laminar flow chambers. Drawing inspiration from the best available systems worldwide, each room was designed to accommodate resuscitation, surgery, and even dialysis sessions. The goal is to have an all-in-one facility to make care faster and easier, both for the teams and, more importantly, for the burn victim. Our center was the first in the Middle East to practice cell therapy, which involves applying sequential grafts of skin cells taken from the patient themselves, making them a central player in their recovery.

At the same time, cell therapy is being carried out (also an innovation in terms of treatment protocols and procedures) which allows the use of plasma extracts which, when applied in a medically appropriate manner to the wounds, will greatly and naturally help the patient to recover. Everything is done to ensure that the patient recovers as best and as quickly as possible from their burns.
