You are about to be hospitalized. Don't worry, we are here to help you prepare well in advance and ensure that your stay goes as smoothly as possible.

Here are some tips to help you organize your hospitalization:

  • Consult your doctor for information on what to expect during your hospital stay. They can provide details on the procedures and tests you will need to undergo, as well as the medications and treatments you will need to follow. It is essential to ensure that you have all the necessary documents for your hospitalization, such as the prescription, lab tests, radiology reports, medical visits, or other recent health documents.
  • If you are taking any medication, it is important to bring it with you. Make sure you take the boxes or write down the names of the medications, taking care to also include any occasional doses (such as cough syrups or lozenges).
  • Do not hesitate to ask the nursing staff any questions. Take the time to learn about the type of surgery or treatment you will be undergoing and the possible risks and consequences. Also ask them about post-hospital care.
  • Before packing your travel bag, remember that space for each patient is limited, so only bring necessary personal belongings such as underwear, slippers, and toiletries (toothbrush, towel, comb, etc.)
  • Avoid jewelry and valuables, and only bring a little cash that is useful for purchasing items.
  • Also, make sure you take steps to prepare for your temporary absence from home.
  • Plan your means of transportation between your home and the hospital (taxi, ambulance, personal car).

Hospitalization is never trivial, and it is natural to experience emotions such as fear and anxiety as surgery approaches. Don't hesitate to discuss this with your doctor, loved ones, or a psychologist to reassure yourself. This will help you work through your emotions and mentally prepare yourself for this temporary transition.
